OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY ROLLS OUT THE LINEUP FOR ITS WASHIGTON, DC CENTENNIAL CONCLAVE

(Washington, DC) An extraordinary number of high-ranking military men, well-known business men, accomplished entertainers, and exceptional pro athletes will join Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated in celebration of its Centennial Conclave slated for July 27th through 31st, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Centerin our nation’s capital.  “Omega men are an integral part of America’s history and social fabric,” says Dr. Andrew Ray, theInternational President of the public service organization.  “When we convene to celebrate our growth and development over the past 100 years, we will do so with great pride in our accomplishments, and in the achievements these men have made in their own right,” he added.

Among the prominent Omega men who are expected to participate in the Centennial celebration are: Comedian and Author, William “Bill” Cosby;Radio Mogul, Tom Joyner; Beyoncé’s former manager Matthew Knowles; Comedian Rickey Smiley;Legendary Athletes, Michael Jordan, Alonzo Mourning, David Justice, Ozzie Newsome, Maurice “Mo” Vaughn US House of Representatives Assistant Leader Rep. Jim Clyburn; former US Olympic Committee Chair Dr. Leroy Walker; Former Surgeon General Dr. David Satcher; Legendary Civil Rights Attorney Fred Gray; “Essence” Publisher Ed Lewis; Civil Rights Legends Jesse Jackson, Sr.; Vernon Jordan, Esq. and Little Rock Nine Member Earnest Green; Former Virginia Governor Douglas Wilder;General Kip Ward; and NASA Administrator Major General Charles Bolden.

Omega Psi Phi was formed in 1911 on the campus of Howard University IN Washington, DC, by three students and their faculty advisor.  The Centennial Conclave was organized to recognize the impact of the Fraternity on the communities it serves, tohonor the men of Omega for achievements in all walks of life, and to offer its members a chance to recommitto providing unparalleled service in their communities.  The Centennial will focus on the tenets that have guided Omega Psi Phi since its inception, recognizing members for their contributions in five areas: Salute to Civic and Community Involvement, recognizing those members who have made a long-time nationwide impact in their chosen fields;Salute to the Military, recognizing those members who have made a long-time nationwide impact in service to our country;  Salute to Sports and Entertainment, recognizing those members who have made a long-time nationwide impact in this field;Salute to Education and Academia,recognizing those members who have made a long-time nationwide impact in this field;and Salute to Fraternity Leadership recognizing those Omegas who have made a long-time nationwide impact on behalf of the Fraternity.  The Fraternity will also focus on Economic Development and Youth Leadership Trainingthrough seminars and panel discussions.  There will also be aPublic Health Fair and a Celebrity Golf Tournament.
