(New Orleans, LA)  —  Some 30-thousand Lutheran teenagers are in New Orleans to worship, build hope and promote justice.  The Christian Post reports the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Youth Gathering has seen about 12-thousand young people loaded onto buses and taken to service projects all across New Orleans.  The theme of the event, “Jesus, Justice, Jazz,” came out of the history and culture of the host city.  Youth gathering director Heidi Hagstorm, said, quote, “The ELCA’s choice of New Orleans was very intentional as a place where our young people can learn the Christian value of compassionate justice.”
