Police in Chicago have been wanting to talk to actor Jussell Smollett for a second time but he has refused.
Yesterday, Police contacted his Attorney and wanted to make arrangements for Smollett to turn himself in, and this Morning, it is reported that he did just that.
Jussie Smollett is an major actor on the hit TV Show “Empire,” and has turned himself in to face a charge of making a false police report when he said he was attacked in downtown Chicago by two men who hurled racist and anti-gay slurs and looped a rope around his neck. The two men that were taken in for questioning said that Smollett paid them to stage the attack.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said that Smollett turned himself in early Thursday at central booking. Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson plans to hold a morning news conference and Smollett is expected to appear in court later in the day.
