If you live in the the Northeast section of Washington, D.C. and you catch the subway train to work and you board the train at the BROOKLAND CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY or RHODE ISLAND AVE. stations, today is not going to be a very good day.

Starting today those two stations are completely closed for work and as Metro Officials say – the work is badly needed.

The work at these two stations are badly need as the Rhode Island Station is the oldest Outdoor Station in the System.  The station is crumbling and needs work badly.

Because of the stations shutting down, now trains are scheduled to run every 10 minutes which will also throw thousands of passengers off.  Those two stations are scheduled to reopen Labor Day, September 3rd.

After evening rush, Red Line trains will be scheduled every 15 minutes at all stations that are open.
