These are trying times in “the land of the free and the home of the brave,” and one GRAMMY® Award-winning recording artist is heart-sick about it.
Kirk Franklin who says he’s just “getting home from an amazing humbling trip to Africa,” was touched by the unity he felt in the motherland, but heartbroken over the disunity on the home soil.
“Standing and worshipping with people that have seen good days, and more than often dark days. The love and unity was overwhelming; now, I’m sitting in my house paralyzed by the lack of love and unity I see on this television,” wrote the “I Smile” songwriter on Instagram, alongside a black and white photograph of himself on stage, covering his face with his hands, seemingly overcome by emotion.
