It came down to 5 games for a best of seven series for the Golden State Warriors as they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-1 for the Coveted NBA Championship Crown.

Prince George’s County’s Kevin Durant, considered by many to be the second best player in the NBA ended up being the best player for the Winners after taking home the Most Valuable Player Award in the Championship series.

Durant ended the finals game with 39 points, seven rebounds and five assist and some MVP hardware.  It may also be noted that Kevin Durant became the first play since Shaquille O’Neil with five straight 30-point games in a Championship series.

Durants teammate Steph Curry also had a great game with 34 points, 10 assists and six rebounds.
LeBron James, who many consider the best player in the game, had another great game 41 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.  Kyrie Irving – 26 points and six assists.

At a Post game interview, Durant thanked the people of Prince George’s County, D.C. and VA, “the DMV” for sticking with him all the way.
