There’s a relevant story to go along with this video.

Let me tell ya okay?

So, today I was talking with Winston Chaney (host of the Winston Chaney Show) who urged me to hear something he wanted to share.

As I sat down to hear what was so important Winston took a moment and then asked me..”Hey Kevin, what was the most awkward conversation you ever had?”

I said “well it depends on where I was in my life and who I was talking to at the time.”

He proceeded to talk about seeing an old friend who he had to break the news to that someone had passed away. The lady went through the stages; you know them…

  • Shock
  • Denial
  • Sadness
  • Acceptance

“Right before my very eyes..” Said Chaney.

It caused me to immediately think of an old song that my father used to sing in his quartet group.

Hence the song “Somewhere Around the Throne” by Joe Ligon and the Mighty Clouds of Joy.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1950s by  the late great Joe Ligon and Johnny Martin, the group began with members Ermant and Elmo Franklin, Leon Polk and Richard Wallace rounding out their ranks. Their debut single, a cover of the spiritual “Steal Away to Jesus”, was issued by the famous Peacock Records label in 1960, with their first LP available one year later — Family Circle.

I’ve always loved those guys!

Here are some websites about having that “awkward” conversation with someone in your life.
