In the wake of the November elections, and Russian involvement, President Barack Obama has expelled 35 Russian Diplomats and given them 72 hours to get out of the country. He is also closing two Russian Compounds on US soil.
Now, in the wake of the US actions, Russia’s Foreign Minister has recommended that expel 35 US Diplomats and recommending to close two US Diplomatic compounds on Russian soil.
Here is the statement from Russian Foreign Ministry:
“Russia’s foreign ministry… has requested that the Russian president approve declaring as personae non gratae 31 employees of the US embassy in Moscow and four diplomats from the US consulate in Saint Petersburg,” Sergei Lavrov,
These statements were made in a televised address.
Russia’s President Putin said that they will not expel the U.S. Diplomats.
