While donations are down for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Program; somebody dropped a $50 Gold Coin in the Red Kettle in Montgomery County.

The coin has a face value of $50, but the Salvation Army says it may be worth as much as $1,200.

Whoever dropped the coin did it in front of the Giant in Cabin John, Maryland, on Saturday.

Money raised through the annual drive helps families and individuals through a variety of services and programs.
