If you live here in the DMV – better know at DC, MD & VA, you already know that today’s weather is dangerously cold. It will be the coldest day of the season this year and the coldest day in December in the last 6 years.
The winds will be gusting up to 40 mph. The temperatures will dip as low as 17 degrees and combined with the winds will equal what is called “a wind chill factor”!
Here are a few tips for this cold weather.
- Avoid or at least limit time spent outside in this cold.
- Dress warmly and cover all exposed parts of the body if possible.
- Bring pets inside
- Move farm animals inside if possible and provide dry bedding with plenty of food and water
- Put on layers of clothing with the first layer fitting tightly on the skin.
