Montgomery County Sheriff’s have identified five teens for spray painting the outside walls of an Historic African American One Room Schoolhouse .

The Old Ashburn Schoolhouse was vandalized  with “white power,” swastikas, profanities and hateful drawings during the overnight of October 1.

The one room Old Ashburn Schoolhouse is historic be it educated black children from 1892 to 1950, when the little schoolhouse was heated by a wood-burning stove; and segregated education was the rule in some states including Virginia. The school was one of the few places where African-Americans from the community could get an education.
