Milfie was known for her biting wit and on pitch critique of pop culture and social justice issues. She was unapologetic when speaking on women’s sexuality and feminism. Number Of Shootings In Chicago On Track To Exceed 2015 Count

The Chicago Tribune released a shocking report, noting that the number of shootings in 2016 is on track to exceed last year’s count, with an average of 82 shootings per week. As of Sunday, there’s been a total of 2,818 shootings, just 170 shy of 2015’s total of 2,988. Homicides so far stand at 459. According to the data, the summer months saw the greatest hike in the number of shootings for 2016. Read more.

Trump Uses Huma Abedin’s Separation Announcement To Attack Hillary Clinton

On the heels of Huma Abedin’s separation announcement, Donald Trump released a statement using the opportunity to critique Hillary Clinton’s judgment and ability to lead. Abedin announced she was separating from husband Anthony Weiner, after news of his latest sexting scandal leaked. Trump congratulated Abedin on her decision, saying she was better off without her embattled husband, but then pivoted to Clinton, saying, “I only worry for the country in that Hillary Clinton was careless and negligent in allowing Weiner to have such close proximity to highly classified information. Who knows what he learned and who he told?” He stated Clinton exercised “bad judgement,” and “greatly compromised” the nation’s security through her association to Weiner. Read more.

White Nationalist David Duke Makes Robocall Plea For Votes

Former KKK Imperial Wizard David Duke released a robocall on Monday urging voters to cast their ballots in favor of his Louisiana senate bid and for GOP nominee Donald Trump. Duke’s message hit on immigration, job numbers, and the economy, and called on voters to stand up against President Barack Obama. “We’re losing our country. Look at the Super Bowl salute to the Black Panther cop killers,” he said, referencing Beyoncé’s Black Panther homage at this year’s half-time show. “It’s time to stand up and vote for Donald Trump for president and vote for me David Duke for the U.S. Senate. Philadelphia Eagles Linebacker Myke Tavarres Joins Colin Kaepernick’s National Anthem Protest

Another public persona announced support for Colin Kaepernick’s National Anthem protest. Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Myke Tavarres said he will sit while the Anthem is recited at Thursday’s game against the New York Jets. Tavarres told ESPN that he almost sat during Saturday night’s game against the Colts, but decided against it. Kaepernick took a stand over the weekend in protest of the ongoing police shootings involving African-Americans and the country’s history of injustice towards minorities. “We’ve got an issue in this country in this day and age, and I feel like somebody needs to step up and we all need to step up,” Tavarres said.
