David and Tamela Mann broke the news on Thursday, April 24—their 26th wedding anniversary—that their reality show, “Meet The Manns,” had been picked up by BET.

Now that speculation has ended and the Christian couple has an official network home, EEW Magazine is giving our list of 5 reasons why their reality is on our must-watch list.

The Manns, who studied at beauty college together, became best friends. Then, they eventually began singing with Kirk Franklin and the larger ensemble he created that became known to the world a few years later as “The Family”.

Over time, David and Tamela fell in love and tied the knot. Though they started their lives together with barely two nickels to rub together, The Manns’ dual acting career began taking off when Tyler Perry cast them in his play I Can Do Bad All By Myself in 1999.

So why will we be tuning in and suggest that you do the same?

1. You’ll Enjoy Argument-Free TV There’s no need to worry about cussing, fussing, hair-pulling, backstabbing and overall pettiness that drives the plots and ratings of today’s most popular and messy reality shows. Though some disagreements are inevitable, the man of the house told Sister 2 Sister Magazine, when approached with the idea to do reality TV, he drew a hard line in the sand. “We don’t fuss and argue with each other and go crazy.’ So we said, ‘If you can let us resolve issues in the family and show positive love, then we’ll do one.’” We love that.

2. We Need Love On The Air With half of all marriages ending in divorce and a hefty number of splits coming from within the faith community, the world needs to see a healthy example of a loving Christian couple. “We just want to show people that you can have a great relationship between husband and wife,” said David in the same Sister 2 Sister interview. While the pair has already graced the cover of Ebony Magazine’s “Black Love” issue, where they shared some of their secrets to happiness, seeing a couple model their love is even better than reading about it.

3. Laughter Is Medicine It is no secret that the hilarious duo that plays father and daughter, Mr. Brown and Cora, on screen, are good for laughs in real life too. But even more interesting to see will be the personal dynamics of how laughter plays a role in their marriage. “David is always there for me and makes me laugh,” Tamela has said in the past. “It’s hard to be upset with him because he cracks me up. He makes me the maddest and happiest of any person I have ever met!”

4. Their Humility Is Beautiful Though highly successful and sought after, The Manns give you the neighbors-next-door feeling, always remaining humble and grateful. “When we got married 25 years ago, we didn’t have enough money for a wedding,” Tamela told US Magazine last year. Those “broke” days are long gone, but their down to earth demeanor remains.

5. They Rep Christ. Most importantly, David and Tamela are unapologetic followers of Christ. With the growing anti-Christian sentiment in America, we need more Christian representation in entertainment. We can never get enough wholesome faith and family-friendly programming.

Though no scenes from the reality show have been released publicly, as long as the Manns honor their commitment to promoting healthy entertainment and steering clear of divisive drama, both their show’s ratings and public morale will get a welcome boost.
