22 Year old White Supremacists Dylan Roof was sentenced to Death on Tuesday for fatally shooting nine Black Members of the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina.
Roof becomes the first person in American History to be sentenced to death for a Federal Hate Crime.
A Charleston Jury deliberated for just over three hours before returning with the Death Sentence. Roof still showed no emotion while the sentence was being read. Hours earlier, he told the jurors “I still feel like I had to do it.”
The last person sent to federal death row was Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in 2015.
