Katie Ledecky – the Olympic Queen of the Water who simply destroyed women’s swimming competition in the Rio Olympics was once again showing off her skills in another sport.  Ledecky, the Bethesda native threw out the first pitch at the Nationals game against the Baltimore Orioles which by the way the Orioles won 10-8.   She was joined at the mound by the National League MVP “Bryce Harper”.

Ledecky came with all her medals; Four Golds and one Silver and kindly smiled and ask Bryce Harper to hold all her hardware as she proceeded to throw a strike to the catcher at home late.

This is not her first time actually throwing out the first ball at a Nationals game; she did it 4 years ago after winning the 800-meter freestyle at the London Olympics when she was 15 years old.

Katie Ledecky is headed to Stanford University as a student and right now just thinking about the 2020 Olympics; she’s got more hardware on her mind, and as she continues to compete and get stronger, it seems like nothing can stop her; in other words, she in a “Gold” State of Mind.

We wish her the very best.
