tina campbell-1Tina Campbell of GRAMMY® award-winning duo Mary Mary got transparent at Howard Theatre Monday, March 2.

During a private viewing party for Season 4 of her WE tv reality show, she spoke openly about the embarrassment of having her life fall apart in front of millions.

The 40-year-old wife and mother said she felt like, “I go let my life show on a TV show so they can see how Christians live. Now I got a busted family and my husband’s dogging me out like everybody else’s!”

After news that Teddy was unfaithful hit, Tina said she was “mean and bitter, finna kill him and everybody, like all the rest of these [unsaved] chicks.”

Rather than modeling what a healthy Christian family should look like, she thought, “My kids finna be all from a jacked up family.”

She then said she asked God, “How is this glorifying you?”

In a preview of the new season, Tina is depicted as erratic and spastic, busting out windows, contemplating suicide and blowing up at everyone around her.

She, from the looks of it, was indeed out of control as those around her suggested.

Even she knew things had gone too far.

Feeling abandoned by God, the reality star and singer told Praise 104.1’s Cheryl Jackson, as well as the event audience, that she spoke to God candidly.

Tina said, “I’m not saying You owe me to do me good, but You said I’m your child.”

She continued, “I might be a tore up child with a big mouth and I try to control everything and I ain’t all that reverent all the time, but I’m still Your child. What You gone do God? You just gone leave me out here like this?”

She went on, “I am busted. I am tore up. I’m a little bit disrespectful, but I need help and I’m coming to You.”

After she calmed down some, He answered and helped her through it.

Following the well-documented drama, these days, things have improved dramatically in her life.

Teddy and Tina reconciled and renewed their wedding vows. Plus, she is gearing up to release a new book and solo album this year.

What started out as an embarrassment is now a testimony of God’s power to restore and create beauty from ashes.
