MARCH 13, 1976 – The O’Jays “Livin for the Weekend” charted on its way to #1 R&B and the groups fifth #1 – just as William Powell left due to cancer. His replacement would be Sammy Strain out of Baltimore, an original member of “Little Anthony and the Imperials.”
