Last April, Amy Joyner-Francis was beaten to death after being jumped by a group of girls at her Wilmington high school.

While Cheryl Jennings has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old stranger Malcolm Evans, the motive is still unknown.

The only witness who agreed to testify recanted her statement, saying she did not actually see Pinkston and only identified him because that was "the word on the street."

The student was charged with criminally negligent homicide following a fight between her and Joyner-Francis, as well as two other 16-year-old girls, who also have not been named because they are juveniles.
