A Minnesota judge handed down an extra lenient prison sentence of just 24 months to former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter for killing Daunte Wright after purportedly confusing a Taser for a gun in suburban Minneapolis last year.

Daunte Wright's family, including his parents, siblings and mother of his son, had the opportunity to confront Kim Potter before the former Minnesota police officer convicted of manslaughter was sentenced for killing the 20-year-old motorist.

Twenty-nine laptops and pieces of sound equipment were stolen from Simmons College of Kentucky and officials have identified the culprits from surveillance footage, but the HBCU isn't going the legal route and instead offered to enroll them in exchange for the returned property.

It appears that authorities may have a lead on those responsible for bomb threats at many HBCUs across the nation this week after the FBI recently identified six suspects in the racially-motivated case.
