Cissy Houston‘s new book about her daughter Whitney Houston will tell all including her spiral into drug addiction.
The 78-year-old gospel singer recently signed a deal with Harper Collins that the publishing company said would reveal the “unabridged and unbelievable story” of the well-known singer and actress. Houston said she hoped to write the book to share her daughter’s life with her fans who continued to contact the family.

“When I lost my daughter Nippy (Whitney Houston’s nickname), the world lost one of the most beautiful voices and an extraordinarily beautiful and charitable woman. In sharing our story in this book, I hope to give her fans something to treasure, the way we all treasured Whitney. We are still receiving thousands of letters each day from her fans, and I hope reading this book will provide a deeper understanding into my daughter’s true story.”
Houston’s book will offer a candid account of her daughter’s life, including her battle with drug addiction, according to a Harper Collins statement.
