Parents and concerned people across the country are voicing their opinion on the recent campaign for Skechers Shape Up  for Girls. The campaign targets young girls only which has people speaking out because of what this message may translate to girls.  Although, some may feel this is a good thing and may support the First Lady Michelle Obama’s, “Let’s Move” campaign and aid in ending childhood obesity.

According to the lets move website, over the past three decades, childhood obesity rates in America have tripled, and today, nearly one in three children in America are overweight or obese. The numbers are even higher in African American and Hispanic communities, where nearly 40% of the children are overweight or obese.
