(Boulder, CO) — This past weekend the Promise Keepers conference celebrated its 20th anniversary at the University of Colorado’s Folsom Field. For the first time, women were allowed to attend. The “Boulder Camera” says the organization founded by retired CU football coach Bill McCartney was designed as men-only, created to unite them in their Christian faith. A statement from Coach McCartney said the mission of the conference was to “ignite and unite men to be warriors” and to “honor women, encourage youth, honor the poor, and honor Messianic Jews as the spiritual fathers of Christianity.” It is not clear if women will be invited to the conferences to follow.
