Happy Car-Free Day: Montgomery County Provides Free Bus Rides

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has announced that it will offer free bus fares on all Ride On buses for Car-Free Day, which will take place on Monday, September 23. Car-Free Day is an annual global event that encourages people to choose more environmentally friendly modes of transportation instead of driving.

Residents are encouraged to take the regional pledge online to participate in Car-Free Day. By doing so, they will be entered into a raffle for prizes, including gift cards, an annual Capital Bikeshare membership, and a pre-funded SmarTrip card. However, duplicate entries will be disqualified from the raffle.
