(Washington, DC) — The DC Department of Health confirms that United Medical Center is dealing with a case of bed bugs. Health department spokeswoman Dena Iverson says authorities learned of the situation after a patient complained about being bitten last week. The hospital immediately called a pest control technician and notified city health officials. This is the second case of bed bugs reported at the hospital since March. The Health Department is planning to set up training so hospital staff can better identify and respond to bed bugs.
