(Washington, DC) — More than two dozen public schools in the District received a letter with white powder inside yesterday. So far, the FBI has not found anything harmful and while several of the targeted schools were evacuated, nobody was injured. James McJunkin, who heads up the FBI’s Washington field office says the letters are being examined.

In all, 27 DC schools and a youth Department of Corrections facility received the letters. Authorities say the envelopes, with typewritten labels, were mailed from Dallas and contained a letter with the words “AL AQEDA-FBI.” The letters are similar to those sent to a couple of DC schools last October.
