(Baltimore, MD) — The economy has gotten so bad even churches are feeling the pinch. University Baptist Church in Baltimore says congregants are donating less and the need for financial help is growing. This is the worst it has been for religious organizations in the last 30 years. Earlier this summer, the Archdiocese of Baltimore decided to close Towson Catholic High, saying the money wasn’t there to keep it open.
