Travis Greene's "Made in the South" Gospel Album
Travis Greene’s “Made in the South” Takes Gospel Beyond Church Walls

You know how Travis Greene always pushes the envelope? Well, his new project, “Made in the South,” is a whole new level. He recently told Praise 104.1’s Cheryl Jackson that this album is “the best body of work” he’s ever created, and when you see the heart behind it, you’ll understand why.
A Mission-Driven Approach
Unlike a lot of traditional projects we hear, Travis said the Lord gave him a specific mission for this one. He made this music not for the people already in church, but for those who have a loved one they’re trying to get to church. He said this album is an “outreach album for the lost,” and while it’s unashamedly about Jesus, it has a non-traditional worship style. This is all about reminding folks of the love and the power of our God.
Celebrating Southern Roots
This whole album is a love letter to the South. The standout single “Home Sweet Carolina” is his tribute to his roots. Travis pointed out that even in the Bible, David wrote multiple songs about Jerusalem, so he wanted to represent his home. He also made sure to shout out all the heavyweight gospel talent that came out of the Carolinas, like Donald Lawrence, John P. Kee, and Shirley Caesar. He said the Carolinas have been “slept on for so long” and he just wanted to put them on the map in a fun way.
Star-Studded Collaborations
You know he had to bring in some heavy hitters for this one. This album is packed with incredible features from Jennifer Hudson, Lecrae, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Jonathan McReynolds, and Andra Day.
It’s clear this album is about more than just songs. It’s about Travis’s obedience to God and his vision to expand the reach of gospel music in a major way.
Beyond music, he serves as co-pastor of Forward City Church in Columbia, South Carolina, where he leads with passion and purpose. With his dynamic artistry and commitment to spreading the gospel, Travis Greene continues to break boundaries and inspire generations through both his music and ministry.
This is a powerful move, and I’m ready for it.
