Ron Dellums, former Congressman and Mayor of Oakland died Monday at the age of 82.

Dellums was a former Marine and eventually turned Antiwar Activist, ran for Congress from California and won.  He was never one to turn down or walk away from a Congressional fight.

when Republican Vice President Spiro Agnew, speaking for President Richard Nixon’s White House, pointedly branded the young Berkeley councilman as “an out and out radical” who needed to be “purged from the body politic” for his stance against the war in Vietnam and up-front fight against social ills.

Ron Dellums dead at the age of 82 and I honor his legacy!!
