UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:

Hardship, distress, and separations of all kinds abound in human life. How can we face these difficulties? Paul was convinced that nothing in all creation is able to separate us from the love of God in Jesus Christ. Paul assured Christians that God would not allow any conceivable threat or danger to separate them from the love of God.

CONCLUDING REFLECTION:

Because God has reconciled us to Him, we are called on to reconcile with one another. We are hearing of too many stories about families, friends, and fellow Christians “falling out” over trivial things. Broken, these folks harbor their anger and hurt in their hearts. We see evidence of it as they respond negatively to us, even though we have done nothing wrong. When we see our fellow Christians stumble in this manner, it is a reminder for us that, just as God reconciled us to Himself, we may have to reconcile the “fallen” to us.

PRAYER:

Loving God, we thank you today for your eternal love. We know that you could have been justified in throwing us away after we fell in the Garden. Instead, you worked to reconcile us to you through your Son, Jesus. Thank you for loving us so. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
