The leader of the NAACP in North Carolina and the head of the Moral Mondays Movement – Rev. William Barber was kicked off an American Airlines Flight and he says it’s because he is Black.

He was taken off a flight departing from Reagan National Airport here in  Washington, D.C.  Rev. Barber said he was being harassed by fellow passengers and a flight attendant before he was taken off his flight.

Rev. Williams Barber is the Pastor of The Greenleaf Christian Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina, and he has led protests against Republican leadership in North Carolina.  He gained national prominence after his speech on the last night of the Democratic National Convention back in July.

American Airlines refused to comment on the case because it has ongoing litigation, but said they do not tolerate discrimination of any kind and that they are committed to providing a positive travel experience for all their customers.

Rev. Barber filed suit Wednesday in Alexandria, Va..
