Here’s how to find your polling place!

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you’re in line at your polling place by 8 p.m., you’re allowed to vote.

If it’s not your first time voting in D.C., you don’t need to provide any ID.

If you registered to vote by mail and it’s your first time voting in D.C., attach a copy of your ID to your mail ballot or bring one of the following to vote in person:

  • a government-issued photo ID
  • utility bill, bank statement
  • government check
  • paycheck, or other government document that shows your name and address

If it’s not your first time voting in Maryland, then you don’t need to provide any ID.

If it’s your first time voting in Maryland you submitted your registration by mail and you didn’t provide a copy of your Maryland driver’s license, state ID card, or a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or government document that shows your name and address when you registered you may need to show one of those documents to vote.

The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you’re in line at your polling place by 7 p.m., you’re allowed to vote.

You’ll need to present a photo ID to vote

List of acceptable forms of ID Include

  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License or Identification Card
  • Valid Virginia DMV issued Veteran’s ID card
  • Valid United States Passport
  • Other government-issued photo identification cards (must be issued by US Government, the Commonwealth of Virginia, or a political subdivision of the Commonwealth)
  • Tribal enrollment or other tribal ID issued by one of 11 tribes recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Valid college or university student photo identification card (must be from an institution of higher education located in Virginia)
  • Valid student ID issued by a public school or private school in Virginia displaying a photo
  • Employee identification card containing a photograph of the voter and issued by an employer of the voter in the ordinary course of the employer’s business
