Nearly 26 million Americans have diabetes, and that number continues to grow.

On average, African Americans are twice as likely to have diabetes as whites. Actress and legendary dancer Debbie Allen has launched a new campaign to try and change these haunting statistics. The So You Think You Can Dance judge and choreographer lost her own father to type 2 diabetes complications in 1984 and since then embarked on a journey to educate people on how to better manage the deadly disease.

Since exercise is an important part of diabetes management, Debbie and expert dancers made famous from So You Think You Can Dance — who now call themselves the T2 Dance Crew — have created dance videos that people across the country can learn and ultimately use as a tool to work towards having a healthier lifestyle. This sounds like good news to church praise dancers to me!
