All good things must come to an end.  Apparently, Angel & Chanelle of Trin-I-Tee 5:7 agree. The trio turned duo recently parted ways with Matthew Knowles’ Music World Gospel label and now, it looks like the ladies are parting ways with each other, at least musically. The longtime friends and group mates revealed that they are both going solo.

“Who knows what will happen in the future, but right now, we’re gonna take this time to focus on our solo careers,” said Angel Taylor, one half of the duo in a radio interview with Robert Carden of “The Morning Wake Up” on 92.5 WKZZ FM. “It’s definitely always been my dream and Chanelle’s dream to be solo artists, and you know, it’s time for us to allow ourselves that experience.”

There is no word yet on official release dates for either of the ladies’ solo efforts, though Angel did indicate that her fan base can expect a new project in “the near future.”

The New Orleans based group started began as a trio consisting of elementary school classmates; Angel Taylor, Chanelle Haynes, and Terri Brown. In 1998, they released their first self-titled project which debuted at #1 on the Top Gospel Albums charts.

Over the span of their 15 year career T57 has sold nearly 3 million albums, making them one of the most successful female gospel groups of all time.

We’ve enjoyed the pleasure of interviewing the girls and wish them the best in their future endeavors!
