(New York, NY) — A 37-year-old pastor is building a church of artsy congregants in the New York City area. The “New York Daily News” says the non-denominational congregation is called the Hipster Church and is growing in Flushing, Queens. The mission statement of the church is unlike any other, quote, “This ain’t your mama’s church.” The Reverend Gage Jung is a self-proclaimed hipster and says, quote, “We’re not trying to make a church like the one your parents went to. We’re trying to make a church for our generation.”
