D.C. Police are looking for a man who they say robbed a bank, and then dropped his wallet while running away.

The robbery happened at a TD bank in the 1700 block of Connecticut Avenue in Northwest around 7:45 p.m. on April 29.

Police say the suspect handed a teller a note, and then fled south on Connecticut Avenue with an undisclosed amount of money.

As he ran away, the dye pack exploded and smoke started coming out of his pants, police say.

The man tried to get rid of the dye pack, but he inadvertently tossed his wallet to the ground. Police say they found an ID with the name Ahmed Hassan in the wallet.

The suspect is described as a clean shaven 28 to 35-year-old black man about 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 150-160 pounds.

He was wearing a gray hat with some red on it, a black sweatshirt with white horizontal stripes and black sweatpants. Police say he spoke with a heavy African accent.
