(Rockville, MD) — A Montgomery County police officer has been charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and illegal use of the FBI’s database. A criminal complaint alleges that Officer Delores Culmer of Silver Spring tapped into the FBI’s main database to check the records of drug customers who owed money to a man identified as her boyfriend, who is a convicted drug dealer. Montgomery County Police Captain Paul Starkes said yesterday that authorities had been watching Officer Culmer for about a year.
The 37-year-old officer faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison on the conspiracy charge, and 10 years in prison for fraud in connection with computer use.
