(Washington, DC)  —  A DC Council report has cleared former mayor Adrian Fenty of any wrongdoing related to the awarding of city contracts to some of his fraternity brothers.  It was a big issue during last year’s campaign, but the report clears Fenty of the accusation that he used his influence to help out his friends get city contracts worth millions of dollars.  However, it also recommended that the U.S. Attorney’s Office take a closer look at possible perjury charges for his longtime friends Omar Karim and Sinclair Skinner.  During a series of hearings and depositions, both Karim and Skinner said they didn’t recall the answer to several questions they were posed.  Attorney Robert Trout, who led the investigation for the council, says that raised some questions about their honesty during the investigation.
