(Washington, DC) — While the DC area has seen mostly a cold rain this morning, area road crews and residents say they are prepared for any possible icy conditions that may develop to the north and west of the District. Salt trucks are stationed throughout the region in case they are needed on the roads and residents should watch out for slippery sidewalks. Morning temperatures are expected to remain above freezing, however it’s still a good idea to add a few extra minutes of travel time for the morning commute, since melting snow and snow-clogged storm drains could create some standing water and possible flooding conditions.
