While most of America waits to see if and when the first family will choose a church home in Washington, The White House has reported that First Lady Michelle Obama will handle all inquiries about the matter.

More than a year ago President Barack Obama officially resigned from Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago where he had been a member for 20 years after news reports focused on repeated controversial statements from the pastor of the church, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. And since his inauguration last January there has been speculation about where the family will worship.

“I’m not going to approach this as a political exercise. This is a deeply personal exercise about trying to express your faith,” Obama said at a press conference. Since then the decision has been turned over to his wife, according to CNSNews.com But repeated requests to the First Lady’s press office asking for a response to that question have gone unanswered.

The First Family reportedly has only attended church service twice since Obama was sworn into office.
