The Motivational Moment during Sunday Joy with Ronnette Rollins encourages the listener to get motivated for whatever they may face during the week. In this Motivational Moment, Reverend Ron Harrison talks about New Year’s.

Happy New Year, Praise Family! We thank God for allowing us to see another year. But if we’re honest, we can admit there are some things we wish had gone differently this past year. We started last year with high hopes and dreams but for some, those dreams didn’t materialize. Some of us suffered sickness, hardship, crumbling relationships, and the loss of loved ones. Rather than dwell on what COULD have been, let’s look to the Apostle Paul for inspiration.

Philippians 3:13-14 says “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Forgetting the past doesn’t mean failing to remember but no longer being influenced or affected by past events. Don’t worry about the new year. “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”
