Thieves have been stealing wallets at Bethesda-area schools and churches and using the money to buy gift cards and groceries, Montgomery County Police say.

Two female suspects have been spotted using stolen cards to make purchases at stores in D.C. and Northern Virginia. Both are described as black and heavyset.

Police say one suspect appears to be in her late teens or early 20s with long dark hair, and the other has short dark hair. The first suspect was last seen wearing a Washington Football Team T-shirt and black sweatpants. The second was last seen wearing black pants and a white long-sleeved shirt with a design on the front. Police say anyone with information about these incidents can call (301) 657-0112 to reach Detective Kim at the 2nd District Investigative Section.

Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County (866) 411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest or indictment in the case.
