“Like when you drive in and you gotta roll the windows down and play the music loud sleepy? Ever so tired, you sitting up in church and you’re gonna go, please don’t let me fall over, please let my hair go back and put your let me draw in the service, please. Well, I’ve been attacked before, many times, probably far too many times,” describes Erica as she begins this morning’s Faith Walking.

ERICA CAMPBELL: So let me ask you something you’ve ever been so tired, you feel like you can’t see straight? I mean, like they’re tired. Like when you drive in and you gotta roll the windows down and play the music lab, she’s sleeping. Ever so tired, you sitting up in church and you’re gonna go, please don’t let me fall over, please let my hair go back and put your let me draw in the service, please. Well, I’ve been attacked before, many times, probably far too many times. And I’ve had to pray and ask God for strength. Here’s what I’m grateful and thankful for every time.

God gave me the strength, whether it was to make it home or to make it through whatever I had to get through. I’ve been that tired. And I was on a promo schedule going around promoting music, or the Mary Mary show. I remember just being so tired. And I’m so grateful that every time God gave me strength, but I realized when I’m that tired, I don’t make good decisions. I’m not, it’s kind. And so I tried to keep myself from getting that tired. And I know y’all say here, could you do so much. I don’t get to that place that much anymore. Because I’m wiser with my body. Because when I’m tired, my body doesn’t work at optimum level. My brain doesn’t work at the optimum level. Because you’re, you’re tired, your body’s saying we want to lay down I want to lay down. And guess what happens when you lay down not only do you rest, but your body rids itself of toxins. So when you don’t sleep properly, meaning you go to the bathroom, or you flip around at night, you don’t get the proper rest. And I think it shows us something about ourselves, our ability to rest and God relieves us of the pressure. He relieves us of some of the things that were going on, going through things that we’re dealing with. And so I pray that you have godly rest, not just our kind where you take something and you knock out but and that not that there’s I’m not judging that or saying there’s anything wrong with that at all. But I’m saying you allow God to give you rest. I love Matthew 1128 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me. I am gentle and lowly heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. I pray to rest for you today. I mean, in your mind, yesterday, we were talking about being weary what that feels like, and that’s different from tired. And I’ve been weary before. But every time God gives me strength, and I’m so grateful that I can trust that He will bring me through he’ll bring me out that he will give me what I need at the moment that I need it. And sometimes it’s not the moment that I think you know, it doesn’t always say doesn’t come today. I want it the way I want but it comes for sure. And so I pray that you get to rest in your heart and your mind and your soul that your body releases, things that are not good for you that God reveals and refuels you than equips you prepares you for what is to come, that you rest and recharge and refresh. All right, rest is necessary. Rest is needed. And don’t let the enemy use your weirdness against you.
