For more than a year now, Washington’s Metro Subway System has been working dilengetly to improve service and safety.  They’ve had stations closed all Summer long in some places and other stations closed for shorter periods of time.

With all this additional work done by Metro, you know it comes with a cost!!

Metro is laying out plans to cut bus services on some lines and even reduce service on over 40 bus lines.  They are also planning to cut and eliminate some early morning subway trains.  Plans are also in the works to restore some late-night bus hours that were cut years ago.  That’s a great thing!!

On Thursday, January 16, The Metro Board is set to hold public hearings on a $2.09 Billion Budget, with plans to raise fares on buses and subway trains.

The general public should have known that with increase work productivity, somebody has to pay for it; and it always falls on the public!!  So DMV, get ready for Bus & Subway fare hikes within the next year.
