In a time in our country when we need & want to hear some good news, this weekend was not the case!!!

In a separation of minutes, there were two mass shooting in two different parts of the country.  One happened in Ohio in the Dayton Nightclub District and the other one happened at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas.

In Texas, a 19 year old walked into a Walmart with an assault weapon and killed 20 and shooting two dozen more, while many more were hurt while trying to escape the melee.

A couple of hours later in Dayton, Ohio, a gunman wearing body armor and carrying extra magazines opened fire in a popular nightlife area, killing nine and injuring at least 26 people.

The shooter in Dayton, Ohio was 24-year-old Connor Betts, gunned down immediately, but the Walmart shooter in El Paso, Texas somehow survived Police and was arrested without a scratch.  Betts (the gunman) actually killed his own sister in the shooting.

In Dayton, the bloodshed was likely limited by the swift police response. Officers patrolling the area took just 30 seconds to stop the shooting, which started somewhere around 1 a.m. on the streets of the downtown Oregon District.

The attacks came less than a week after a 19-year-old gunman killed three people and injured 13 others at the popular Gilroy Garlic Festival in California before dying of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The El Paso shooting was being investigated as a possible hate crime as authorities worked to confirm whether a racist, anti-immigrant screed posted online shortly beforehand was written by the man arrested. The border city is home to 680,000 people, many of them Latino.
