UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:

Consequences of past actions, the reality of impending death, and a sense that we cannot undo past mistakes weigh heavily on the human spirit. Where does one find relief from these pressures? Paul assures us that those who are in Christ Jesus have life in the Spirit and are free from condemnation.

CONCLUDING REFLECTION:

Christians are on the winning side, but we have a responsibility to fight even though we have died to sin and live to God. We fight by always being conscious of this battle between good and evil and by dismissing sinful thoughts, words, and deeds when they come our way. Christians do not fight alone. The battle is theirs, but it is also God’s.

PRAYER:

Eternal God, we give you thanks for the victorious living that we lay claim to today because of what you have done for us Christ Jesus. Teach us how to talk in the Spirit each and every day of our lives in order that we may grow closer to you and closer to being the redeemed people you have called us to be. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
