We are in the 19th day of a Federal Government shutdown, and in a couple of days Federal Workers will not get a paycheck.

As the Shutdown continues, there is some good news on the horizon; as one of the DMV’s largest Utility Companies is offering some help to Furloughed Federal Employees.

Washington Gas, one of DC’s largest companies says it’s gonna offer potentially cash strapped Federal Employees some help to keep their heat coming.

WASHINGTON GAS PRESIDENT & CEO ADRIAN CHAPMAN:  “We recognize that federal government employees may be in a challenging financial position as the shutdown continues.   We will work with affected employees so that they continue to receive their natural gas service without interruption.”

Washington Gas, which has more than 1 million customers in D.C., Maryland and Virginia, said it’s offering a range of flexible payment options for federal workers, including deferred payments and a plan that will allow customers to spread the cost of winter heating over the course of the entire year.

If you are a Federal Employee and having a hard time with the Shutdown, call Customer Service at Washington Gas and take advantage of this offered help.
