As the snow, sleet and freezing rain blanket the DC, MD & VA area, it’s making for a very slow commute for all that are trying to drive on this Morning.

With the weather the way it is, it’s causing for a number of school systems to begin to call in with different arrival times, and some actually are calling in cancelling schools altogether.

A Winter weather advisory has been issued for this area through Thursday Afternoon; and predictions are already coming in that there will be some flooding.

Closings and Delays

School systems in Baltimore, Howard, Carroll, Culpeper, Loudoun, Fairfax, Prince William, Rappahannock, Stafford, Spotsylvania, Washington and Fauquier counties as well as schools in Frederick County, Maryland, Frederick County, Virginia, are closed.   Manassas Park City Schools and Manassas City Public Schools are also closed.  School systems in Montgomery County and Fredericksburg City are on a two-hour delay.

The Federal Government is opening on time with the Liberal Leave Policy in effect, which means you have the liberty to call in if you are not able to make it, and/or work from home – telework!!!

It is predicted that by late afternoon, all this wet snow will have disappeared; all because of the texture of the snow – Soft Flakes.
