A former Teacher of the Year has been elected to the United States Congress.
Her name is Jahana Hayes; she is from Connecticut and she is a Beautiful Black Woman.
She is the first African American elected to the United States Congress in Connecticut history.
Jahana Hayes was the 2016 National Teacher of the Year and promises that when she gets to Washington, she will work hard at working across the isle.
Congresswoman Johana Hayes: “When you’re a teacher, you don’t pick and choose who you advocate for.” “You don’t choose who comes to your class. You don’t ask kids, ‘Is your mom a Republican or a Democrat, because that’s how I’m gonna decide how hard I’m gonna work for you. They come to you and you have a responsibility to leave them better than when they came. I think that’s what government should be doing.”
