A group of Prince George’s County students and musicians went to New York over the weekend to take Master Classes in Dance and Theater to work on the musical “Wicket” had a little trouble on the ride home.

They were on the way back with a stop in Baltimore at Morgan State University when according to the driver, one of the bus tires exploded.

As a result of the explosion, the bus caught on fire.

 

 

The bus was on the New Jersey Turnpike when the incident happened.  Everyone got off safely.

While on the side of the road, a car stopped to lend a helping hand; and who jumped out; non other than TV Celebrity and Doctor; Dr. Oz.  Dr. Oz actually videoed the incident as students were ushered off the Charter Bus.

 

The students on the bus were part of Northwestern High School’s Visual and Performing Art program.

Students were able to grab some of their belongings, but according to the school district, some musical instruments were lost or damaged.

The school district is trying to figure out what is covered by insurance.
