UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:

People want release from feelings of shame that may result from past mistakes. Where can they go to find such relief? Daniel prayed to the Lord a prayer of confession, seeking forgiveness, mercy, and strength to obey.

CONCLUDING REFLECTION:

Daniel’s prayer of confession reflected his desire for forgiveness, mercy and strength to obey. These cannot be purchased in a mall, but must be secured from humbly approaching the throne of grace to receive help in the time of need. (See Hebrews 4:16)

PRAYER:

Lord, thank you for never leaving us even though we are often guilty of neglecting yu and even rejecting you. Help us to lay down the empty distractions of this world and to seek first your kingdom and your righteousness. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
